People ask me, “Are you a saint or sinner?”
I hear there's a bit of each in everyone
So does that make every loser a winner?
Will misdeeds ever be undone?
I can’t understand the world around me
The more I learn, the less I know
How many sure things in life can you see
Looking through such a narrow window?

And into each life expect sunshine and stormy days
Life isn’t always fair but it's still good
If you want better, then only you can start to change
What you thought you understood

I can't remember a time when life was
Exactly as I thought it should be
Settling for things has never been an option
Any more than living just for what I can see
It’s a balancing act to stay centered
When you’re getting pulled from side to side
Taking the good with the bad, the happy with the sad
Opposite worlds collide

And into each life expect sunshine and stormy days
Life isn’t always fair but it's still good
If you want better, then only you can start to change
What you thought you understood

And into each life expect sunshine and stormy days
Life isn’t always fair but it's still good
If you want better, then only you can start to change
What you thought you understood

Songwriter's Notes: Many believe in "yin and yang" and how opposite forces often exist together. Although we all have good days and bad days, even the bad ones can have silver linings hiding behind the inevitable stormy clouds. This song prefers to view the cup as half-full, rather than half-empty, as evidenced in the lyrics, “Life isn’t always fair, but it’s still good.”
