Sooner or later, I’m gonna have you.
Oh girl, I have to have you.
Sitting in a quiet little restaurant,
Can’t make up my mind, but I know what I want,
And still you keep me waiting – oo, you keep me waiting.
I think about you every night and day,
No question in my mind you feel the same way,
And still you keep me waiting – oo, you keep me waiting.
Just a silly game you keep on playing.
Go on - it’s your move.
Don’t keep me hanging.
Sooner or later, I’m gonna have you.
Oh girl, I have to have you.
It didn’t take too long to see
How you’ve been looking at me.
Sooner or later, I’m gonna have you.
Oh girl, I have to have you.
It seems we’re closer now than before.
I’m right here - just walk on through that open door.
And still you keep me waiting – oo, you keep me waiting.
Sooner or later, I’m gonna have you.
Oh girl, I have to have you.
It didn’t take too long to see
How you’ve been looking at me.
Sooner or later, I’m gonna have you.
Oh girl, I have to have you.
It didn’t take too long to see
How you’ve been looking at me.
Songwriter's Notes: This song tells the age-old story of the pursuit of love, set to an upbeat tempo and pop/rock feel. The object of the singer’s desires is a young lady who does not seem to notice or even care for the man’s feelings. Nonetheless, the protagonist never loses hope of getting her attention, and seeking a relationship with the girl of his dreams.
