My Miracle

My Miracle

Don’t know why I look behind myself
Just to see where I’m coming from.
And sometimes I get stuck in between
What I’ve been through and what’s to come.
Some day I’d love to grab hold of that
Merry-go-round’s shiny brass ring.
Oh I believe I will receive
Much more than I’m asking.

And here I am with eyes wide open.
Waiting for my miracle.
Been a long road to hell and back, you know,
But I’m not cynical.
Everybody’s searching for something.
Everybody’s looking for a thrill.
Everybody’s just running in circles.
While I keep waiting for my miracle.

And if there ever comes a time when
I wouldn’t care at all any more,
You know I would pack my bags
And set my sights for some distant sandy shore.
I never give up praying for blessings,
And I never step out of line.
Oh God, I believe this is real,
But would you please send me a sign?

And here I am with eyes wide open.
Waiting for my miracle.
Been a long road to hell and back, you know,
But I’m not cynical.
Everybody’s searching for something.
Everybody’s looking for a thrill.
Everybody’s just running in circles.
While I keep waiting for my miracle.

Everybody’s searching for something.
Everybody’s looking for a thrill.
Everybody’s just running in circles.
While I keep waiting... I keep waiting for my miracle.

Songwriter's Notes: This is the story of a man who takes a close look into himself, and discovers that despite living an exemplary life, he still awaits his "big break." And so he seeks help from above, asking for a miracle... his miracle. The song is set in an easygoing, light pop/ballad style, with touches of country instrumentation throughout.
