Leaves for work early in the morning;
On board at seven ten.
A crowded subway waits for no one.
It’s Monday morning again.
Thirty minutes to his destination,
A job, but not the true vocation he planned.

Wonderland - he’s living in wonderland (wonderland.)
Wonderland - he’s living in wonderland (wonderland.)

Working class hero who always tries to see
The best when there’s no good at all.
A lesser man would throw in the towel,
But this fighter stands tall.
Never one to feel mistreated
Or believe he’ll be defeated - life is grand.

Wonderland - he’s living in wonderland (wonderland.)
Wonderland - he’s living in wonderland (wonderland.)

Ten hours later he makes his way home
On the train underground.
Back on the blue line, with it’s clatter and clanging,
But he can’t hear a sound.
‘Cause soon he’ll be back with his loved ones,
Warmed over meatloaf, tv reruns close at hand.

Wonderland - he’s living in wonderland (wonderland.)
Wonderland - he’s living in wonderland (wonderland.)
(repeat & fade)

Songwriter's Notes: This is the story of a hard working man who never gives up. No matter what life throws at him, he pushes through the daily grind for the love of his family, and never complains. It's an easygoing and laid back song, with a dreamy vibe. Also, the tune’s mentions of the subway, Blue Line and Wonderland are references to the songwriter's hometown transit system in Boston, Massachusetts.
